We believe your data is yours and yours alone. Itchery is private by design.

This policy covers the Itchery app for iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS, and this website (itchery.app). It explains what we collect (almost nothing), how iCloud sync and the optional "Track Together" sharing work, and your rights under EU GDPR.

At a glance

Data we collect: none, by default

Itchery does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data with us. There is no signup, no user account, no profile, no email gate. No analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs are integrated into the app, and we do not operate a backend that receives your content.

Data you enter into the app

Everything you create in Itchery - the itches you add, their notes, your taps, your fix attempts, and your settings - is stored in a local database on your device. By default this data also syncs across your own Apple devices through iCloud (see below). It is:

iCloud sync and backup

Itchery uses Apple's CloudKit to keep your itches in sync across the Apple devices signed in to your Apple Account, and Apple's iCloud Documents for an optional backup of your data. This relies entirely on your own iCloud:

Track Together (sharing, optional)

Itchery lets you share an individual itch with other people - a partner, a flatmate, family - so you can track it together. This is opt-in and per-itch:

In-app purchases

Itchery Plus is processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not see, handle, or store your payment information. Your Plus entitlement is verified using Apple's StoreKit signed transaction information, which does not identify you personally. Any data collected during purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Notifications

If you enable reminders or partner-activity alerts, Itchery schedules local notifications on your device. They are generated and delivered on-device; we do not send them from a server. To keep shared itches current, Apple's CloudKit may send your device silent background updates over Apple's push network. That is Apple's own infrastructure, it carries your synced data within your iCloud, and it is not visible to us. You can revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Categories of third parties

For the app, the only party Itchery interacts with over the network is Apple itself. We run no backend of our own and use no third-party analytics or advertising providers in the app.

Website (itchery.app)

This website is a static marketing page. It sets no advertising cookies and runs no advertising trackers. It uses Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless service that records aggregate, anonymous page-view data and does not build a profile of you. The site is served by our hosting provider (Vercel); your browser shares standard request information (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver the page, which we do not use to identify you.

Children's privacy

Itchery is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA). Because Itchery has no accounts of its own and collects no personal data, the app is suitable for general audiences, subject to the App Store age rating and parental controls.

Your rights under GDPR

We are based in Slovakia, in the EU. The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Slovak Act 18/2018 on Personal Data Protection apply.

Itchery holds almost no data about you, so for most rights there is nothing for us to act on - your data is under your control on your device and in your own iCloud. Specifically:

Data security

International transfers

Apple operates iCloud and the App Store globally, and our website host (Vercel) may serve and process requests outside the EU/EEA. Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, these providers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and their own GDPR compliance frameworks.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to Itchery (new features, new providers, etc.). We will update the Effective date at the top, and we will highlight material changes in the app or on the website before they take effect.
